Arctic Monkeys in the Top 10

What is interesting to me as album sales continue to tank is that semi-popular independent/alternative albums crack the top 10 and get a lot of exposure...add the Arctic Monkeys to the list of The Shins, Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, Bright Eyes with relatively low number of sales but high chart positions...I mean these albums aren't Thriller...
